    Hi Gents,

    Thanks for the replies.

I tried both of those things and am still getting the same results.

Must be some glitch in the way my FCP deals with render files.

    Thanks again,

    Wayne

    Hi,

Thanks, yeah, I forgot to mention, although I don’t have that gear I’d take it to a facility that does.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the feedback.

The project is only 50MB with only one timeline, but it’s a feature-length documentary with
10 trillion clips and assets so it’s putting a major strain on FCP to handle.

    Drives are not full.

But thanks for the insight and have a great weekend.

    Thanks Guys,

Seems like you can move it after it’s been highlighted if you DON’T hold down the Shift key – that’s what was tripping me up – now I can work around it.

    Tx,

I’d like to hear what the REAL guru’s have to say, but it seems to me that vanilla ProRes will be good for what you need.

Maybe the question you need to ask is, “do I need to keep this file at such a large data rate?”

Put another way, what is the intended destination for the short?
Are they making a film print?

If it’s for Blu-Ray, Broadcast and/or the web, it could be that transcoding to ProRes [or ProResHQ] will be all you need for a pristine end-product.

Sometimes all that extra data can be overkill.

    Something to think about.

Clean install of the OS, or overwrite?

You can send a free Dropbox or yousendit.com link.

Also, unpublished YouTube is not necessarily unprofessional, I do it all the time.
A nice way to do it, though, is to send them a Youtube link to a page that DOESN’T have all those
    lousy comments and other videos.
To do that, use the free: https://quietube.com/ link, so your video will look like this:

    Thanks Guys,

@Joe, you are right, but I’m not looking to make up my interviewees, just cut down some of the inevitable sweating.
