I thought I was going nutz!

I’ve been having EXACTLY the same issues and have lost two jobs over this dilema all the while getting the run-around
from Apple my dealer, and yes dear reader, even members of this board. (Operator error, indeed!) Curious if you are having
issues with dissolves and fade-in/outs in 720p also. We edit a lot of game trailers that rely heavily on such techniques and
have intermittant problems with these effects not rendering nor scrubbing correctly…

I can’t figure out why this isn’t more of a discussion issue! Maybe there aren’t that many people who have to work
in 720p/59.94?

Thanks for the workarounds.. Will have to try them next time we have a D5 in house.

I’m using Blackmagic 8-bit w/photo jpeg compression… now I know what you’re thinking… that there’s
something funky w/photo jpeg, but I get the identical results w/ material that is uncompressed.

I have deleted the render files, and changed my default transition (someone suggested that). Also,
I have noticed I get black whenever I adjust the opacity of a layer to anything but 100%. That certainly
seems related…

Yes… It must be one of the funky LaCie drives with two 500gb raided together… only way I can figure
how they got 1T in one small case.. are there known issues?

an update:
Under Apple’s supervision I have upgraded my XRaid’s firmware, pulled and cleaned all connectors,
pulled the raid controllers and reseated them, and pulled the fiber-channel card and reseated that.
I have noticed some improvement, but haven’t fully tested my problem out yet…
