That sounds like a possibility. Is that something that I can clean myself with a cleaning tape or do I need to send it in to be serviced?

I have a Sony DCR-TRV350 Digital 8 camera that I use for digitizing 8mm/Hi8/D8 tapes. I go straight out with firewire into FCP. This model will play back all three formats, but be careful, not all Digital 8 models will play nicely with 8mm/Hi8. Do a search and you can find a list of the models that work with all 3 formats.

It may not be the best business practice in the world, but I’ve come to accept that some clients will just always pay late, end of discussion. I can fight it all I want, but that’s just life. So rather than spending time trying to collect on time and fight them, I focus on business and making more money.
Of course, there is the issue of cash flow, so I always make sure I have enough clients paying on time to keep a positive cash flow. Typically, it’s my smaller, more local clients that pay on time. Big corporations are the worst, often taking 90+ days to pay, especially since many of them outsource their payables overseas.
I used to fight it and get worked up over late invoices, but as I’ve grown, I’ve learned not to fight it and save my energy and this works well for me now. I still send out monthly past due statements, but that’s the extent of the effort I go to.

It’s been a few years, but I have used EasyWorship and had good experiences with it. They have come a long way with the past few versions since I last used it, so I imagine it’s even better now.
There are a lot of church tech blogs out there with great information. Just search and you’ll be amazed at what you find. A few starting points might be https://www.churchtecharts.org/ and https://www.churchtechblogs.com/.

If you are worried about it, you could ask for a check disc, which is a one-off proof made from the stamper that will be used for replication. Most replication companies will make you one for anywhere from $100 to $300 for a few copies to test before making the entire run.

You could also Build and Format to Hard Drive and then use a program like Toast to burn the image file. In Toast you can easily switch between devices by clicking on the name of the device in the lower left corner. I find Toast to be much more reliable for burning and have fewer errors than burning directly in DVDSP.

Most theaters around my area (SF Bay Area) use digital projectors for the content that loops before the movies starts, and then they switch to film. I would think a DVD could be payed back fairly easily form a technical standpoint. I have been to events that rented movie theaters and they have played back video from DVD and computer sources, so I’m sure it is just a matter of theater setup and how yours are configured.

This is not quite entirely true. There are actually a small handful of options available to add copy protection to burned DVDs. And to be honest, some of them offer more protection than CSS on a manufactured DVD. CSS was cracked over a decade ago and is easily overcome with most basic ripping and copying tools.
I offer a form of copy protection called Rimage Video Protect. I’ve talked about it a few times here on the cow, so I won’t duplicate the information here, but if you search for it you should find it. I can offer the RVP on video DVDs with no minimum order quantity. Just like everything else, it is not 100% and nothing ever will be, but it works the best I have seen of anything on the market.
