Hi Everyone – I have a DVCAM that I recorded and am trying to play it back on the same deck I recorded it on. If I start the tape from the beginning, there are horizontal bars that “stick” while others keep playing. If I fast-forward a few minutes it corrects itself, but I can’t seem to get the front end to playback correctly.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!
    Matt

Sounds like dirty heads. Possibly on recording. The record heads may have been clogged and worked themselves clean while recording.

That sounds like a possibility. Is that something that I can clean myself with a cleaning tape or do I need to send it in to be serviced?

Cleaning tape works for me. But if the record head was dirty during recording… well-
