Amaray brand cases are very nice. They are the “brand name” of Amaray style cases. Nexpak also makes very nice Amaray style cases in a wide variety of styles.

Got this earlier this week:
“Hi, I’d like to return the DVDs we bought last week”
[insert 5 minutes to figure out they were talking about 15 VHS and VHSC tapes we transferred to DVD]
“I’m sorry, was there something wrong with them?”
“No, but we already watched them and decided the memories are not worth saving after all.”
“I’m sorry, but there are no refunds on that type of service.”
“Oh, can we trade them in for other movies?”
“(partially laughing)What sorta movies are you looking for?”

Thats when I could’t contain it anymore and just laughed. -
In MacOS, just open DVD Player.app and choose “Open DVD Media” from the file dropdown. Navigate to the folder containing the Video_TS folder and open it. DVD Player will run it just like it’s a DVD. If you wanted to automate the process a bit, you could write a little app in Apple Script or even Automator. Put it in the flash drive as the “Launcher” sorta icon and when you open it, it opens the files in DVD Player.app for the user.

I have only used the thermal, so I am not super familiar with the inkjet part numbers, but these look like they are inkjet only:

I ended up sticking with dedicated thermal ones. It’s like they try to make they compatible with both, but end up not working well with either! Go figure!

Al – the thermal refers to thermal retransfer printers. These printers use a thermal heater to transfer ribbon, usually either CMY or black, to a clear ribbon, and then directly to the surface of the disc. Some types that only use one color will transfer that color directly to the disc without the clear ribbon in between.
This is thermal ribbon and not toner.

The “VIDEO_TS Folders” mode seems to read the title from the files without letting you change it. The DVD-ROM UDF mode lets you change the title.
One last ? – is there a best practice for how long a DVD title should not exceed?
