  • What to charge for DVD’s duplication

Posted by Sam Lesante jr. on February 5, 2010 at 11:20 pm

My client needs 100 DVD’s of his instructional video.

I usually do not make that many copies for a client but he needs them in a hurry so I thought I’d help out.

What should I charge for this production?

Each disc will take roughly 5 minutes to burn, the client is supplying the dvd’s and the jewel case but i am burning the discs and supplying the color label for the disc and the front of the case.

So i figure 9 hrs. of work plus 100 sleeves, 100 labels and the color ink from the printer.

    TIA

    Sam

$4.95 a copy is very fair

    $5.95 is relatively fair

$6.95 a copy is what the big guys would charge

Sam – here is a link to our website with our pricing for duplication.

Keep in mind that we are located 45 minutes outside San Francisco, so depending on where you are located, your market may be able to withstand higher prices.

    Hope this helps.

We have our rates posted on our site too, including duplication. Take a look and see if it compares. I have three 7-disc duplicators and three Primera Bravo SE printers.

Have been workhorses for a couple years now.

    Thanks everyone for your input.

Unfortunately Matt & Rich, my client needs them today 🙂

That’s why I thought I would do it myself since he’s “under the gun”

I will let him know about your websites though.

BTW – We r located in North East Pennsylvania.

    Thanks again

Hope you don’t mean an actual “label”. Not a good idea for DVDs. Can create intermittent play back due to balance problems. Direct printing is what is recommended.

Based on what I see on other websites they usually charge 0.53 per DVD duplication. DVD’s on that price are in full color.
