September 23, 2016 at 12:00 pm in reply to: How To Activate Vegas Pro 14 After Purchasing Upgrade Offer For Vegas 13 + Free Vegas Pro 14But why the mention “(Suite)” and the “Pro” only is mentioned?
Is it the “pro” or the “pro suite”?? -
from the sony creative forum…
“…Having said that, one Facebook group poster decided to contact Sony directly and here’s their reply to him.
I questioned to Sony Creative Software support about some online stores selling Vegas Pro 14 Suite, if this was true or lie. The answer was:
– Kim N.: We do not have a Vegas Pro 14 available at this time so those are most likely inaccurate listings. Then I asked if there will be a Vegas Pro 14 or not:
– Kim N.: There is a version 14 being worked on, but there have been some unanticipated delays so it’s not available at the moment. We don’t know when it will be released but it is being worked on.

You should “convert to avi” (having a cineform less compressed footage to edit) only parts of those files.
you can do that in gopro studio, and transcode to avi those video parts you are interested in.
You can specify multiple in-out avi files to render from the same mp4 file.

from the sonycreativesoftware vegas forum…
“For those who are not familiar with Steam, you CANNOT use the software without an Internet connection! This makes sense for gamers who play on-line games but I have had the displeasure of wanting to use XPlane Steam Edition when I didn’t have an Internet connection and you can’t even start it!
So don’t plan on editing any videos without an Internet connection if you purchase the Steam Edition. Yes, it’s targeted a gamers who record their game play. It doesn’t make sense for a professional videographer.

Well, not surprised at all…
do you remember this thread?
https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/987855#987881
I wrote
“NOW (maybe) Edit has nothing to do with Vegas. But all these “tools”in the catalyst suite are multiplatform.
Thus, if the final full Sony workflow will include vegas (which as of now is windows only), we should see vegas 14 for mac.
…”Which, as someone wrote in another thread, was an impossible task (to re-write for both mac&win)

Cameras should be the same as on p3 professional & inspire, only with a limited output.
And from DJI CEO’ interview and other news they are using same ambarella A9soc chip as gopro4.
“Ambarella’s fiscal first quarter results, released late Tuesday, make that number look attainable. The company, which makes the video encoding chips used in DJI drones as well as GoPro cameras ..”

@Derek Moran
NOW (maybe) Edit has nothing to do with Vegas.
But all these “tools”in the catalyst suite are multiplatform.
Thus, if the final full Sony workflow will include vegas (which as of now is windows only), we should see vegas 14 for mac.
Do you think so?

well, looks like there is a Jay Allen who posted here:
He might have no information, just guessing.

So looks like we should brace for VEgas Pro demise the same route as did FCPX….
