So looks like we should brace for VEgas Pro demise the same route as did FCPX….

Well that remains to be seen, I see no support for plugins nor is there mention of business model, IE is it subscription based. The specs indicate a web connection for activation. If it is the intent of taking hostages then count me out. For that matter let’s wait and see what BMD has done with Resolve.

Edit could be a rebrand attempt true. I would think they would continue both until Edit has a few versions, or greater market share.

I don’t see how Vegas 13 would be dead. It looks more like a pre-editing tool.

Catalyst Edit had nothing to do with Vegas Pro.

NOW (maybe) Edit has nothing to do with Vegas.
But all these “tools”in the catalyst suite are multiplatform.
Thus, if the final full Sony workflow will include vegas (which as of now is windows only), we should see vegas 14 for mac.
