So looks like we should brace for VEgas Pro demise the same route as did FCPX….

April 16, 2015 at 6:54 amWell that remains to be seen, I see no support for plugins nor is there mention of business model, IE is it subscription based. The specs indicate a web connection for activation. If it is the intent of taking hostages then count me out. For that matter let’s wait and see what BMD has done with Resolve.

April 16, 2015 at 9:03 amEdit could be a rebrand attempt true. I would think they would continue both until Edit has a few versions, or greater market share.

April 16, 2015 at 12:37 pmI don’t see how Vegas 13 would be dead. It looks more like a pre-editing tool.
Quote:
“Jump start the editing and review process by creating a rough cut storyboard with a quick initial color grade, then render it out directly or export an EDL for use in popular NLEs.” -

April 16, 2015 at 3:50 pmCatalyst Edit had nothing to do with Vegas Pro.
Here is a interview from NAB with Michael Bryant from Sony Creative Software.

NOW (maybe) Edit has nothing to do with Vegas.
But all these “tools”in the catalyst suite are multiplatform.
Thus, if the final full Sony workflow will include vegas (which as of now is windows only), we should see vegas 14 for mac.
Do you think so?
