If I get a DVI to component adapter and connect to the BOB (seperate computer) will that work? Should I change the resolution on the monitor or anything like that?

I’ve been using Tiger on a G4 dual 1.42 for awhile now and its been working great. I’ve had to do a couple of reinstalls due to issues with other programs but, its all working fine now.

I’ll just buy a new computer then. I tried this awhile back with Media100 and couldn’t get it to work though, everything else did from Protools to Lightwave and even Soundtrack Pro.

There is a system similar to yours going on ebay right now for about $1650. It has a BW G3, UL2D card and 500GB Medea drives though.

I had one of my P6000 boards die not too long ago and Media100 said it would be $630 for an exchange. I was using version 7.5 without DV. They told me the upgrade to 8.2 would be $595 and the DV option would be $495. I went on ebay and bought a used one (version 8.2.2) and got the DV board in another auction for about $650 total. If you keep your eyes open, you can usually find a pretty good deal. Although the functionality of FCP is very enticing.

Thanks Bobby. I wasn’t too impressed with it either but, I thought there might be something I was missing.

After researching for hours and posting on a dozen different forums, I found the cure. If this happens to anyone else, its a simple remedy…
You need to reset the pmu (power management unit). Shut down then hold shift / control / option / command and press the power button. Wait 5 seconds and let it start up. Reset your clock and everything should be fine.
