  • Digitizing from a DVD

I need to digitize some B-roll from a DVD I received from a client. Its the only one we have. The problem is, the DVD has 3 chapters. Only the first 2 chapters will play in a regular DVD player. Of course, I need footage from the third chapter. I’ve tried several DVD players and have determined it is a problem with the disc. The only way I can get the third chapter to play is on the computer. Is there any way to digitize from the computer (Apple DVD Player)? I’ve also tried copying the DVD several times and several different ways, to no avail. Any suggestions?

If I get a DVI to component adapter and connect to the BOB (seperate computer) will that work? Should I change the resolution on the monitor or anything like that?

The easiest way is to do it via a PowerBook where you can output the DVD to S-Video. Or you could try MPEG Streamclip or DVDxDV for ripping the DVD parts to Media 100 codec if they can read the disc….
