Hi Postman.
When you have a few minutes, I’d appreciate it if you could describe the problems you’re having with v3.1.0 in detail.
I’d like to see if the software is crashing at a particular step.
Thanks.

That’s what I meant to say. 🙂

Hi Garrett.
If no parameters change over time (that is, the Wind Speed isn’t animated, the Flagpole isn’t animated, etc.),
the flag will likely settle into a loop.Finding the starting point and ending point depends on many factors, so you’ll have to determine that on your own.

Hi Kiel.
Your file has many pieces grouped together, which means that everything
gets imported as a single unit into the Invigorator. The Invigorator will make each ungrouped piece its own object.
Each object can have its own material, bevel, etc.I would suggest doing the following:
1. In Illustrator, ungroup all of the elements of the logo.
2. Group together the shapes that should have the same color
(such as the specular highlight shapes on the letters and lightning bolt).
3. Save the changes to a new file.
4. Import the new file into the Invigorator, checking the “Use Illustrator Colors”
checkbox in the “Select Artwork” import dialog.
5. The imported shapes will all have the same bevel, so everything will sit at the save level and have the same depth.
6. Select each imported object and change its Depth value so that you can see each individual object.
7. Change the materials and object styles as necessary.Let us know if you need more assistance.

Hi Tim.
Could you send me your project (or projects)? I’d be happy to take a look.
Just send your .aep files — no extra media files are necessary.
Send them to: matt@zaxwerks.comAre you running AE 6.5? And Invigorator Classic 4.0.4?
When you say “replace the vector” — do you mean that you open the Options window,
select your current title object, and then click on the “Replace” button in the Object tab?If you could provide a little more detail as to which steps you’re doing and then what you
see (and where things go wrong), I’d appreciate it.Thanks.

Hi Dante.
You don’t see the flag because the wind is blowing to the right by default, so the flag is blowing off-screen.
If you pull the camera back, you’ll see the flag.

Hi Chris.
I would guess that there is a compatibility issue with one of your fonts.
If you have any non-standard fonts, or specialized fonts, I would suggest disabling
them and trying the Invigorator again. Once you’ve paired down your font list so that
the Invig runs, you may be able to find the offending font.As an alternative, you can type your text in Illustrator, convert the text to outlines, and
then import that file into the Invigorator.Let us know if you are able to get the font editor running.

Hi Jay.
There is no “water ripple” material type in the Invigorator, but you may create a
ripple texture and apply it to your objects. By creatively using diffuse maps, bump
maps, and specular maps, you can create some convincing results.Good luck.

April 20, 2005 at 5:57 pm in reply to: Layer Map is applying itself to surface 1 on every objectHi Sean.
When you duplicate an object, it links the original materials to the duplicated objects,
as you’ve seen.To remove this link, do the following:
1. Open the 3D Invigorator Set-Up Window
2. Select a duplicated object
3. Open the Object Styles tab in the upper-right corner of the Set-Up window
4. Find the Swatch menu next to the Object Styles tab
5. Select “Unlink Object Style”
6. Repeat steps 2-5 for additional objectsYour selected object(s) will now be independent of the original object, so you can
specify a different object style or material for each one.Try the steps above and let us know if you need more assistance.

Hi.
Here’s one way to do it within a single Pose:
– Make a Pose at the frame you’d like the rotation to start.
– Make the length of the Pose as long as you’d like the rotation to occur.
– Select all of the objects in the track (the objects in your logo).
– Select the Pose.
– In the Advanced tab, find the Pose Actions section.
– Locate the “Pose Grouping” menu and select “Make Group…”.
– Enter a name for the group (or keep the default) and press the Save button.
– This groups all of the selected objects into a single unit.
– Find the “Action” menu below the “Pose Grouping” menu.
– Select “Spin Y” from the “Action” menu.
– Find the “Rotation” edit box below the “Action” menu and enter 360.
– Play the animation and watch your logo spin.Note that your objects are grouped within the Pose. If you create Transitions
or Poses after the rotation Pose, the objects may remain grouped (although you
may change that — read the User Manual for more information — or ask us).Let me know if you have any more questions.
