    Hi Mark.

It sounds like you’ll want to save an image of your logo in Illustrator and then use that image as a texture map in the Invigorator.

That way, you can texture the face of your Invigorator object with the logo.

Let us know if we can be of more assistance.

    Hi Mark.

The Illustrator importer only imports simple colors — not gradients. You may want to set the colors to basic CMYK or RGB colors and try again.

    Good luck.

    Hi Amber.

You’ll want to upgrade to version 3.1.1.

You can find a beta version here:

    Hi Jeremy.

If you re-open the project and re-render, do you still get the jumps?

Would you mind sending me your project? It seems like we’re not recalculating enough frames in certain situations.

    Send to: matt@motivatedpixels.com
(just the .aep file is necessary – no media files)

    Thanks.

  • Hi Marcos.

If you could send me your AI file, I’d be happy to take a look.

    Send it to: matt@zaxwerks.com

    Thanks.

  • Hi Marcos.

The Invigorator automatically closes open stroked objects before extruding them.

If you just want to show the outer edge of the Invigorator object,
you may turn off the front and back faces of the object.

Let us know if you need more assistance.

June 22, 2005 at 6:22 pm in reply to: Animating Materials

    Hi Banshee.

At this point the Invigorator doesn’t support animated colors.

However, by cleverly using Layer Maps, you can animate the materials.

    The (abbreviated) steps would be:
    – Create a secondary Comp (call it Comp B) that is just a Solid with an animated color.
    – Add Comp B to your main Comp and turn off its visibility.
    – Find the “Layer Map 1” parameter for the Invig layer and select “Comp B”.
    – Open the Invig Options window and create a new material using Layer Map 1 for the color map.
    – Assign that new material to your text objects and close the Options window.
    – Your text should now use the colors from Comp B.

You can use a similar technique for animated bump maps, specular maps, reflections, etc.

Let us know if you need more assistance.

    Hi Mike.

The current version of ProAnimator (version 3) allows you to import a variety of 3D file formats,
    including OBJ, DXF, and 3DS.

Version 4 of ProAnimator (coming very soon) will let you create a variety of primitives, including
spheres, cylinders, cones, cubes, and pyramids.
