    Hi CaptM.

Glad it’s working for you now.

Note that the swatch folder in the plug-ins folder will be the one updated with new swatches.

    Hi CaptM.

With previous versions of the Invigorator, swatches (Materials, Object Styles, Light Styles, and Lighting Styles) were stored inside each project file.

With version 4.0 of the Invigorator, we now put all swatches in a folder and use these same “global” swatches for each project.
You can find the swatches in the “Zaxwerks Swatches” folder that exists inside the same folder as the Invigorator plug-in.

When you load a 3.x file, the global swatches are updated with new swatches found in the 3.x file.
When you load a 4.x file, the global swatches are loaded.

It sounds like you aren’t seeing any Material swatches. Is this true?
The first thing to check for is the existence of the “Zaxwerks Swatches” folder.
Please look for that folder and let us know if there are any files in the “Material Swatches” folder inside the “Zaxwerks Swatches” folder.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Marcos.

We save a file called “Zaxwerks Invigorator Prefs” in the same folder as your Zaxwerks Invigorator plug-in.

It looks like the call to open/create the file is failing.

Please make sure the folder isn’t locked/protected.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Ramil.

The Shift key does not seem to work in that version.

I’ll file it as a bug.

    Thanks.

    Hi Pembleton.

There are some fonts that we are unable to parse since we actually process the font file, so this is not an uncommon experience.

Are there fonts in particular that you’re having trouble with?

    Thanks.

    Hi chwk45.

Would you please tell us about your system, mainly:
    – CPU type/speed
    – Graphics card type/VRAM size

Note: We use OpenGL for our rendering, not DirectX.

    Thanks.

    Hi Kurt and Matthias.

One change we made to the Invigorator was to start using a standard GL call for rendering our objects
that was broken in previous versions of OS X (previous to OS X 10.2). Thanks for the debug info, Matthias —
    that really helped.

I guess this is still a problem on some machines (although I’m not sure why — we’re running Tiger
on a few machines and it seems to work fine).

I’d like to send you two a test version of Invig Pro v4.0.5 (if that’s what you’re running) to see if
a small change fixes the software for you.

Please email me your email addresses:
    matt@zaxwerks.com

We may have to go back to our previous way of doing things.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi Kurt.

Could you tell me the crash/error message you’re getting?
Which version of AE are you using?

    Thanks.

    Hi Bill.

If you wouldn’t mind sending me your file (matt@zaxwerks.com),
I’d be happy to take a look.

July 10, 2005 at 10:11 pm in reply to: Invig…Object Set assignment not “sticking”

    Hi Jeff.

I think I understand what you’re trying to do. Let me know if I’m missing something.

It seems like you’re creating text (let’s say you created “Jeff”) and want to assign
each letter to a different Set so that each letter can be independently animated.

You’ve probably noticed that when you click on the letter “J” you select all of the letters in the text object.

To put each letter in a different Set, do the following:
    1. Open the 3D Invigorator Set-Up Window.
    2. Make sure no letters are selected (click in 3D empty space or select “Deselect All” from the Object menu).
    3. Holding the SHIFT key, click on a letter (click on “J”). Now just the letter “J” is selected.
    4. Choose a Set number in the Set menu.
    5. Repeat steps 2-4 for the remaining letters.
    6. Click OK to close the Set-Up window.
    7. Animate each Set. You should see that only the letter (or letters) assigned to that set are moving.

Let us know if you need more assistance.
