November 8, 2005 at 4:07 pm in reply to: Light Guide in Set-up Window

    Hi Jim.

The Lighting Guide Ball uses OpenGL to do its drawing.

Can you tell me what sort of problems you’re seeing with OpenGL turned on?
Which machine do you have? Which graphics card?

We made a change in Invig v4.0.6 that should make things better with OpenGL.

    Thanks.

November 3, 2005 at 7:03 pm in reply to: 3d flag plug-in: full-screen size flag issue

    Hi Corey.

The default 3D Flag camera is not right on top of the flag, so you’ll see a flag that is smaller than the Comp screen even when the Pre-Roll value is 0.0.

There are two ways to move your flag closer:
    1. Change the Flagpole Pole Pos Z value to be larger. The larger the value, the closer the flag will be to the camera.
    or
    2. Add a Camera to your scene and click on the “Use Comp Camera” checkbox within 3D Flag.
Then, when the Pre-Roll value is 0.0 (and your time marker is at time 0.0), the flag should flatly cover the Comp window. If not, you can move the Camera closer to the flag using the standard After Effects camera controls.

Let us know if this helps, or if you have more questions.

November 3, 2005 at 6:15 am in reply to: memory error.

    Hi mrj4k3.

One thing that would help us help you better is for you to tell us exactly
what you’re doing when you get the error.

    For example:
Are you doing a RAM Preview? A final render?
Are you inside of the Invigorator Set-Up window?
Are you using the Invigorator interface inside of the Effect Controls Window (ECW)?

The more we know about what button you’re pushing or what function you’re using helps us a lot.

October 19, 2005 at 12:07 am in reply to: REALLY REALLY slow render?

    Amish Ed.

    You’re a very patient person.

You’re correct in expecting your scene to render in less than 2 weeks.

While I can’t imagine any setting in the Invigorator that would slow things down that much,
you may want to check your Motion Blur settings. If you have Motion Blur on for your Invig
layers, and have set your Motion Blur Passes to an obscenely high number, that may do it.

Would you mind sending me your .aep file (no media files are necessary)? I’d be happy to
take a look. If there are particular frames that take a long time, let me know and I’ll check
    those out first.

Please compress your .aep file and email it to: matt@zaxwerks.com

    Thanks a lot.

October 19, 2005 at 12:03 am in reply to: ProAnimator repositioning bug?

    Hi Peter.

First of all, thanks for including your system specs in your message. That saves us an important question.

Would you mind sending me your .zxa file and telling me which object I can click on and tumble to see the problem?
I’d like to see if we have a bug in our system.

By using the non-Pose controls, you’re creating a Tweak for the Pose. We may be calculating something incorrectly.

You can send your file to: matt@zaxwerks.com

    Thanks a lot.

October 11, 2005 at 3:14 pm in reply to: Just the Simple Spin – Does not work as expected

    Hi Suzzie.

There are a few ways to make a word spin about its center.
The key is to group your letters together before trying to make them spin.

    Try this:
    1. Create your text. This will create an animation track with a default Pose.
    2. Select all of the characters.
    3. In the Advanced Pose Actions section of the Animation window, find the Pose Grouping menu.
Select “Make Group…” Then name your group. Now the word will move together.
    4. Find the Action menu below the Pose Grouping menu and select “Spin Y.”
This tells the objects in the track to spin about their local Y axis. Since all
of the letters in this track are grouped together, only one thing will spin.
    5. Change the Rotation value to 360 for one full spin.
    6. Finally, resize your Pose to be as long as you’d like it. The word will spin once (360 degrees) over
    the length of this Pose.

By default, ProAnimator animates everything separately. To animate objects/letters/logos
    together, you must group them.

Let us know if you need more information.

    Hi ggshubin.

Can you tell me which version of the Invig you’re using? Also, are you using Classic or Pro?

Is it possible for you to send me your .aep file (no media files necessary — just the .aep)?
I’d be happy to take a look.
You can send it to: matt@zaxwerks.com

September 17, 2005 at 11:51 pm in reply to: how do i arc words?

    Hi Max.

I should also note that PA 4.0 has a Duplicate Track menu option in the Track Commands menu.
That should make things easier for you.

    Hi Max.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

We’ll consider #1 — which would be a useful feature.

As far as #2, once you’re happy with a track’s animation (in ProAnimator),
you can save it as an Object Animation Preset (use the Object Animation menu in the Animation window).
Once it’s a preset, you can apply it to another track, even after loading up a different scene.
