    Hi Greg.

If you can send me your project, I’d be happy to take a look.
I’ll probably only need the .aep file.

    Send files to: matt@zaxwerks.com

Send me a few instructions to follow as well.

    Thanks.

July 2, 2008 at 2:24 pm in reply to: 3D Invigorator OpenGL Render Buffer

    Hi Tony.

Serge is correct. It sounds like your renderer is set to use the “High Quality OpenGL” render — rather than the Invigorator (software) Renderer. But there may be another solution as well (see below).

By default, AE layers are set to Best Quality mode. This means that the Invigorator will render its scene using whichever renderer is selected in the Invigorator Set-Up window.

    I’d suggest checking two things.
First, make sure you’re trying to render OpenGL off-screen.
    1. Open the Options/Set-Up window.
    2. Click on the Object icon below the 3D preview.
    3. Click on the “User Prefs” button below the 3D preview.
    4. When the User Preferences dialog opens, make sure that “Hide GL Render Windows (if possible)” is selected.
    5. Close the Prefs dialog and the Set-Up window.

If that doesn’t solve your problem (or if you want to use the Invigorator renderer), do the following:
    1. Open the Options/Set-Up window.
    2. Click on the Camera icon below the 3D preview.
    3. Find the Renderer menu below the 3D preview — it will say either “Hi-Quality OpenGL” or “Invigorator Renderer.”
    4. Make sure “Invigorator Renderer” is selected.
    5. Close the Set-Up window.

June 4, 2008 at 3:15 pm in reply to: Zaxwerks Reflector HELP

    Hi Kevin.

Make sure your Invig effect is using the Comp Camera
(look for the “Use Comp Camera” checkbox in the ECW).

Once that is checked, you can consider your Invig objects
in the same 3D space as your 3D floor. They’re both viewed
    through the same camera.

If that doesn’t help you, send me your project
    (matt@zaxwerks.com) and I’ll take a look.

Let us know if you have more questions.

June 3, 2008 at 6:43 pm in reply to: Zaxwerks Reflector HELP

    Hi Kevin.

Be sure to turn off “Hide 2D Layers” in the Reflector effect.

Since the Invig is on a 2D layer, it will be hidden by default.

Let us know if this fixes your problem.

April 27, 2008 at 5:32 pm in reply to: Zaxwerks 3d invigorator slow!?

    Hi Tony.

The default rendering mode for Layers in AE CS3 is Best mode. You may want to switch the Invigorator layer’s rendering mode to Draft mode.

You may also want to consider upgrading to the current version of the Invigorator – v4.5.

April 27, 2008 at 5:29 pm in reply to: Aliasing when output in ProAnimator

    Hi Catalin.

Can you send us a screenshot (or send me a clip of your video)?

Note that when you export a Quicktime movie with the Animation (Millions+ colors) codec,
it will look very aliased in the Quicktime Player application. This is because the Quicktime player does not properly show the alpha channel. You may find that the video looks fine once it’s imported into Avid Media Composer.

If this isn’t the case, feel free to send me your movie (or a portion of it).

    Send files to: matt@zaxwerks.com

    Thanks a lot.

April 21, 2008 at 10:02 pm in reply to: 3d flag: can’t get pole images to show up

    Hi Jeremy.

We’ve fixed the fps issue with v1.5 (which hasn’t been put up on the website yet).

As for the Flag Poles, make sure the “Flag Poles” folder sits in the same folder as your 3D Flag Plug-in.

I can send you a pre-release of v1.5 if you’d like. Email me so I can get your email address: matt@zaxwerks.com

    Thanks.
