John, thanks for the feedback. Before I jump in a buy the DXA-2S (or 2T) I want to clarify that I will get significant benefits. At present I use the Azden 320UPR receiver with 2 x Azden 30BT transmitters with laval/shotgun mics. The DXA-2S will allow me to place the audio on separate track in Vegas which is reason enough to get this device. What I want to know is, will I get better quality sound?

I will essentially be running the receiver to the DXA-2S via 3.5mm jack (receiver) with dual XLR inputs into the DXA-2S. I will then have to run 3.5mm jack from the DXA-2S to the camera input.

Finally, if I also have my second Rode Video Mic plugged into the auxiliary input on the DXA-2S, can I record all three sources? That is, for example, have one lavel on the groom, a shotgun up the front and then a shotgun mounted on the shoe of the camera to get some clapping/ambiance.

Thanks for the advice. I can burn DVDs between the DVD and the HD drives that are in the computer. It takes a long time but it is limited at 10x. This would indicate that the burners work.

In addition, the initial DVD that I generate from DVDA is fine. It is just when I try and create additional copies using the prepare project. It is definately an issue with the already prepared project but I can not pin-point what. I can create multiple copies but I need to click Make DVD each time and go through the whole process.

I may just have to crate masters and then copy them 3-4 times as it is Wedding Videos and usually I supply 3-4 copies of each disc.

I have had the same problem. I am using an FX7 and SV Platinum 8. I tried to import off a Sony HDV HD camera and Vegas just hung. No error message.

My friend used his dad’s computer running the same software as the HDV HD camera is his…and it imported fine. I can not understand why. Same software version and all.

Valid point. I have had a closer look at Vegas Platinum Pro 8.0 which I currently have, and according to Sony, it should support AVCHD. In the Help Menu, when you search for AVCHD it brings up a topic on how to import the AVCHD format. It refers to the file extensions as being *.m2ts. The files I have are *.mts. Does this matter?

When I try and import the files (which I was given on CD) Vegas freezes. Is this because I need to bring the footage in directly from the videocamera?

The Help topic also says to capture the video via you Picture Motion Browser Utility supplied with your video camera? What is this?

Thanks for the advice. The problem seems to be limited to only 3 short clips. Hopefully it is a one off thing.
