Thanks! I don’t think they are trying to get rich per say. I’m guessing they’ve been approached by either a furniture manufacturer or app developer to provide textures of their fabrics for use in an AR app similar to what Ikea just launched for iPhone/Android (mainly because he kept showing me the app and saying how impressive it was). He’s just concerned that most of those platforms tend to show flat texture maps and his products are more about depth of the fabric.

Sorry… never mind! It was a PC vs Mac issue.

Thank you for the information!
Are you 100% sure about the 3GB of ram part though? I know the older WinXP system that I had the card in originally had 4GB. Granted the OS only addressed something like 3.5, but that’s still over 3.

September 14, 2012 at 12:40 pm in reply to: Does anyone remember the most stable drivers for Decklink Studio 2 and Premiere CS4?Oh sure… but there are around 10 to 15 different sets of drivers that include Windows 7 64 and CS4… I was just hoping others might have some insight into which set offered the most stable system. But it looks like I’ll have to try them all one at a time until I find the right ones.

Well I tried a project just using all Adobe codecs and settings and had no problems at all, so I’m guessing it’s the blackmagic card at this point. Unfortunately I probably won’t get any help there since it’s older and I’m using an outdated version of Premiere. Time to look for new hardware I guess.

Well my RAID controller is a stand alone card with it’s own processor but it is an internal card. I am starting to think that my Blackmagic card may be the issue.. even if my RAID was slowing down the system, we are still talking about DV footage which shouldn’t be too demanding. I’ll try a reformat to see if that helps but I think I may pull the Blackmagic card first and see what that does to the system.
Thanks for the advice! I may give AJA another look, it’s been a while since I’ve looked into one.

February 10, 2011 at 4:47 pm in reply to: Quick Question about older versions of BCC and Red with AdobeAhh… never mind… I found another thread saying that the BCC transitions folder needed to be moved to the CS4 common plugin folder… that seems to have done the trick.
But apparently something still isn’t right because as soon as I try to preview or render any of the effects, Premiere instantly crashes. Maybe a video card conflict since I don’t think mine’s on the approved Boris list or this software could just be too old… oh well.

I am actually running the latest version of the software, but in my haste to solve the issue I didn’t exactly play around to determine the full nature of the problem (I was close to deadline on a few commercials). It only seems to happen with transitions from the GPU Trnasitions bin and from a third party plugin VideoFX. These have worked for me in the past so I am at a loss as to why they have suddenly stopped working. I haven’t updated any drivers or software in a while.

Well I did take everything apart and blew out the case with compressed air, but I didn’t try cleaning the contact points with isopropyl alcohol… I’ll give that a shot, thanks.
