    First, you can record progressive on the PIX directly from the 1080i output of a camera. Set the scaler to record 1080p25.

    Second, the ProResLT codec will have a little more noise than regular ProRes. Try a similar test using ProRes, I think your results will be better.

  • PIX Recorders format the cards as UDF. IIRC, KiProMini formats as FAT32. Both formats are Mac/PC compatible.

    You will need to reformat the cards in the recorder before using them in that recorder.

    If the file came from a Sound Devices machine, the TC metadata would be in the ID3 tags and easily viewable in any software that will show you the standard MP3 tags – they even will show in Windows File Explorer.

    If the tags are there, BWF Widget will read the MP3 tags and show you running timecode while the files are playing. N.B. – BWF Widget is PC only.

    All of the 7 Series machines make sample-accurate file splits.

    File split size is user selected in the menus.
