Okay, I used the first suggestion (which is what I was going to do originally, but couldn’t think how to do it) and got this result: https://www.macvilleproductions.com/givingblur.mov

I think it’s pretty good considering what I’m having to do. It’s manual mask with keyframes every 1-5 seconds.

What do you all think? It’s going to be shown in a big church on Plasmas and LCD projectors, so I think it’ll almost be un noticeable.

I am pretty sure (99.9%) that the logo I have is a vector logo, as it scales perfectly, has vector lines in AI, and is in the RGB workspace. Here are two images of what I am doing with it:

It looks fairly good on the screen, but when I preview it on my production monitor, that’s when it looks like crap. I know that this is an issue with graphics in NTSC, but I’ve been lucky and never had to deal with it before.

Yeah, I have that turned on already. The problem is the edges from that are so sharp, that they are jagged.

  • Okay, doing a little more research, it seems that ANY HD file you conform in Cinema Tools will not come through with the correct size. I found this out by running a 60P file conformed to 23.98 and the size was incorrect when imported into AE. Lucky I found the QT player trick.

  • I tried your suggestion, but it didn’t work either. HOWEVER! I did f. ind a work around. There seems to be a bug in either AE or QT on how the footage size is read/written. To get the food rez, I have to open up the clips in QT player, choose actual size and then hit save. It’s annoying, but at least it’s not too time consuming or difficult.

    Thanks,

  • Yes. I have double checked and everything is done correctly. It’s weird, I just noticed that all my 30P files are showing up as 1280×720 59.94. The conformed files show as 640×360 23.976. Why isn’t After Effects reading the frame rate correctly on the 30P files?!
