    Follow up:

Later that afternoon (16-11) of our issue, avid released client 5.2 which supports SL.

    5.2 requires 4.2.4 on the server/LANshare side.

Had a few problems getting 4.2.4 installed, but finally got it working.

    PC’s work without any problem.
Mac with 5.2 installed, still has problems:

From time to time after asking for unity PW, it asks for system admin PW, and upon hitting ok, it freezes.
Still will not connect to the workspaces after selecting which pool/domain I want.

One time, I was able to hit apple+K and type smb://192.168.10.244 and use one of the avid PWs to login via finder to reveal each of the workspaces. This however after mounting did not allow me to see content within the workspace.

I am in no rush to get things working, but having within 2 weeks would be VERY helpful.

Any advice/user stories? on 10.6.2 with Connection Manager 5.2 and no AVID or FCP editor installed.

    Anyone have any luck?

Trying to get 10.6 to work with our unity via ethernet. (no avid editor, just for access to drives)

    Feedback would be awesome

My issues with my wacom and zax are strange.

I only have issues with certain types of clicks.

When I need to swap between cam/light/object (as well as track/dolly/rot) it often takes two very slow and careful clicks.

I also have the same issue when trying to select a single pose or transition on the timeline.

Clicking anything else in the program has no issues.

I am on a leopard mac, with ae cs3 and pro invig

This won’t help you at all, but I have similar issues.

I have a small 4×6 wacom for two dual ACD’s and I love it, but its can get annoying when trying to click a value to manually enter the number.

I also have a lot of difficulty with my wacom pen and zaxwerks.

Didnt exactly solve my issue with the model, but gave me enough information to form a workaround, thanks.

yes, I went ahead and did that and things are working as expected, but I’m surprised ae and zax cant support a zax effect within a reflection mask.

That setup sounds rather silly to me. I would suggest using your mac, as a mac. I know in the past when I “switched” Adobe allows you to replace your software. i.e. call them, and for 5 software titles, you are permitted to get a free copy for the other OS. They simply ask you to pay shipping on the new version, and destroy your old copy. They then take your serial and black list it and walla, you will now have CS3 for mac, on a mac!

    hope that suggestion helps.

I’m not sure about squeeze though.

I am pretty sure the only difference in the versions is the fact that you can not upgrade (and a cheep rate) the edu version. also the box will say edu, but that is the only difference I have ever noticed.

  • without getting too detailed in this post set up actions as well as using an automated process found under file/batch/automate (i think?)

you will make a tool preset for your crop, then make an action that uses the tool preset, crops, then prepares for saving.

Use the batch automation to open the files, run the action, then save your files with an appropriate file naming method.

This is a process with endless options, but a quick look in the help files for actions, and batch automation will really save your life.

I had to resize well over 100 images and i set up the process in 2 minutes while the actual PS work took less then 30 seconds!!!!!

    thanks aharon,

im on osx, ae7, illus cs3, and when i look in bridge like it suggests i, cant find any scripts that seem to match what was needed.

are you saying you think cs3 just has the fix built in and i may not even need to worry about it?

as of now i dont really have any video i can easily try it on, but if i can ill give it a shot and let you know.

thanks again, i really love this effect, but at the moment have no reason to use it. just learning
