    Vol 3 of the manuals, page 371 and 372. Try these options and see if it’s what you want.

    Excerpt…. Final Cut Pro recognizes three kinds of alpha channels. A fourth state indicates there

    Hi,

    You can copy and paste effects in to a project then take the project file to another system.

    Is this suitable?

    Similar Problem – we exported the sequence as an XML document and then imported it back in to the project. The sequence would then open. Does yours ?

    I have enjoyed reading the various opinions on the use of mp3 files.

    I am interested to know what the same people think (for and against the quality issue) about video compression.

    storage requirements
    subjective quality
    measurable technical parameters
    DV codecs / HDV, etc

    June 1, 2006 at 9:08 pm in reply to: 4 channel audio thru Decklink Pro

    Hi,

    Assuming the rest of your Blackmagic / Final Cut system is set up correctly you still may have difficulty capturing 4 channels of audio from a Beta SP tape and a J3 deck.

    As the J3 is a ‘no frills” machine it does not have the heads on the rotary drum to access the FM modulated audio channels (that is channels 3 and 4).

    Well, that is the way it is here on a PAL J3 deck.

    May 18, 2006 at 10:15 pm in reply to: 5.1.1 Sequence Preset improvement

    As previous versions of FCP had this feature (being able to prompt for new sequence settings) should I assume from your posting that;

    5.1.1 defaults to this behaviour and /or;

    you can no longer disable this feature.

    Hi,

    Did you export a DV quicktime? If so, ensure HIGH QUALITY is checked on the VISUAL SETTINGS TAB of your VIDEO TRACK in the MOVIE PROPERTIES dialog.

    No suggestions from me if this ain’t it.

    September 29, 2005 at 8:13 pm in reply to: IMX format a problem with FCP??

    Thanks Wayne – it’s amazing the differences.

    We do not get the level shift.

    The offset is not the problem for our timecode capture.

    Our G4 does handle IMX playback and output but not capture.

    Thanks again for feedback.

    Hi,

    I don’t want to spread misinformation but I believe that IMX50 is the only IMX that is supported by the RT engine.

    Whilst on the IMX topic I was wondering if someone could check the following on a KONA 2 equipped system.

    With mirroring to desktop enabled play back an IMX30 clip in viewer. Do you get a video level shift on SDI o/p when playing back clip.

    Also, when capturing IMX clips in capture dialog with VTR control do you actually get the same in and out timecodes as entered or does the resulting media file show different in and outs. If we capture a clip with 10.00.00.00 to 10.00.05.00 we actually capture 10.00.00.04 to 10.00.05.07. Not a capture offset problem.

    We are enjoying using IMX50 on our blackmagic equipped systems. We have recently switched to IMX and have had to replace a G4 to cope.

    September 7, 2005 at 10:28 pm in reply to: insert editing – can’t do it!!! Why???

    HI,

    I don’t pretend to offer you a solution here but we have also had this in the past and have submitted this to Apple.

    Would it be possible for you to do a screen shot of your sequence at the in point and post the result here?
