Thanks for your reply, Alex. I am using BlackMagic Media Express to capture. The drive enclosure does have eSata. I will try that and let you know how that goes.

Ok, I tried capturing again and this time used 10bit yuv and had no problems encoding. I did run into another problem though.

Even though I told it to capture 4 audio channels, in Premiere CS4 it shows up as on channel (mono). Windows Explorer say there are 4 audio channels, but Premiere just doesn’t see them. Is there anything I can do?

What I’m trying to do is make a preset for a text wipe effect. I would like to apply it to a word of text and each character wipes in together, but kind of follows the shape of the letter. Like the T would start in the middle and go up until about halfway and then widen out for the cross part. But I need to add 1 mask for every character in the word and then certain characters would go up and then right, some right and then up. Some would start on the left side, some would start in the middle. It all depends on which letter it is, so I need to write a script. Does this make sense? Or am I going about this the wrong way?

Thanks for your reply, Jan. What I have is several comps of photos in 3d space. Their z-positions are set at random and then the camera zooms out from one photo to show all of them (hundreds). I have to render several comps and it takes a while, so it seems a waste to include empty frames where the photos haven’t even come into view yet. I will try the Magnum script though. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for your reply, Todd. I did what you suggested and it looks pretty cool! Do you have any ideas for making the paper get crumpled as it rips?
