With Dynamic Link a change made in AE is automatically updated in Premiere.

It doesn’t seem to be the same in Premiere though.

So I am thinking then that All Sequences will have to be in the same project, if we want to update one and have it LIVE change the Main Timeline, yes?

    Works great, thanks!

  • I wish. No they are not MP3 files, they are actually high quality AIF files which we received from the sound studio where they were recorded, edited.

    Nathaniel-
this was very very helpful. I will bring you guys up at our next meeting. The company I work for is a decently sized one, so I don’t think we will need to go DIY-route.

I will keep you informed and hit you up if we want to request a quote.

    Best,

OK, I figured out a way to do it that requires a limited knowledge of After Effects, and also it ONLY WORKS ON WINDOWS machines, but it definitely works!

OPEN After Effects. Make sure you have your EDIT>PREFERENCES set to interpret footage at the frame rate you will want for the sequences.

OPEN premiere and open the project you want to work on.

-Using File Explorer browse to the folder with the sequences you want to import. DRAG those files from the Window to the Project media in AFTER EFFECTS. (depending on file size this may take some time)

–Click off of the sequences, then RE-SELECT all of them. Use CTRL+C to copy the files. This may take a while as well.

-Open PREMIERE and using CTRL+V paste the items into the project.

VIOLA – 400+ TIF Sequences opened in AE at the right frame rate

    ONLY works with Windows.

    Hmmm.. bump.

If I have 400 TIF sequences I have to import them all one-by-one?

I saw some post about making them all After Effects projects, and then importing from there…

We are working on an animation, and have 3 cylinders which will be accessing large (.TIF) sequences in 2K. For a 22 minute show there is about 250 GB of animation.

I’d like to have three cylinders which are right next to each other access one common drive, which should have very fast read/write speeds.

Our network is 10 Gbps, so if we want to do NAS I think we can. just depends on what’s cheapest.

September 28, 2016 at 8:22 pm in reply to: Diagonal greyed lines in audio, no audio?

previously it would open the audio event but just cut it off, and we could repair with a simple change of speed.

    hmmm…

if anyone has another trick that would be appreciated.

Maybe it would work on Adobe cc 2014? I think that’s where we tested it.

Yes each of those files were sped up in the other program (Sony Vegas, I guess now “Magix Vegas”). Previously I have used the export system from there and imported into Premiere without a problem, we would just manually go through and adjust the Speed/Duration to match the Sony speed up that we had put on it.

When you say it is the incorrect length compared to what it was, what does that mean? It was literally nothing before importing it into the timeline.

Is there a way to fix it?

    Thanks
    Matt
