Hi…the problem is the fx window was stuck in the box where the trimmer was….so I can see the preview if I click that tab…and see the fx if I click another tab..couldn’t do both….I just reinstalled the program to get it back to default…thanks

thank you John…please excuse my ignorance…but is there a video fx for broadcast luminace ?? do you mean broadcast colors in the fx tab ?? is there a general one I should use ? I’ve never used it b4…

also I have about 40 odd tracks..is there a way to hit a button to put the effects in all of them ?

Hello John…the format is AVI, and is SD…. the only way I can get it to stop flickering the overlays is to cut anything under it….

to make it play smooth I select the tools option and highlight a section and pre-render it……thats the only way they will play smooth…

I’m just worried If I have to keep doing this I will loose quality of the footage…

is this true ?

thanks John….the previous footage has bars on the top and bottom….the footage I’m trying to work with doesnt have any bars…

NTSC DV Widescreen (720×480, 29.970 fps)

everything is set to default
and adjust source media to match render settings is checked…and blend for interlace…and gausian for blur

Hi John…they are all wide screen….but when the video plays what I replaced doesnt have the bars…on top and bottom…. ???? so I have a video with bars..wide screen..and some without…please help

Greetings..thanks for the info John….I always render to Avi at 1st…then to mpg2 b4 puttin on dvd….

I render to avi 1st..for everything ..b4 converting to another format..is this correct ??

thank you John for your reply…the problem is I borrowed the camera..didn’t realize that it was not shot in HD..but rather DV. Thats what I think anyway…because when it captured..it would only capture thru DV…not HD. The DV tape plays on my Sony pd170 so I think it was DV. (The mini dv tape I bought said HDV/DV)

The project settings I used were:

NTSC DV Widescreen (720×480, 29.970 fps)

720×480

I am so confused about the interlace thing…originally it was set to none..and I later I changed it to blend.

I have been reading the forum for days trying to figure out the correct answer..as I was supposed to have this video for the customer days ago.

I again delayed them..and promised to have it today….

Do I take the rendered avi file and change the properties to what you listed ?? or Take the veg work file …and change the properties and Render like that ?? Being it was not shot in HDV ??

thanks I figured it out…not sure how I did….but I did…. but where is that option to stretch video do not letter box ?? I’m using vegas 9e pro..thanks for the reply Scott
