At least with Panasonic P2CMS you can export to your hard drive just the clips you want. It won’t export in to out points however.
Working with native files means a change of workflow that you will just have to get used to.
If you want to keep working the way you have, Cineform Neo might do the jobMartin

The Pansonic Hpx300, HS400 and Aja Kipro combo has been working rock solid for us and I highly recommend it.
Have a look at the new Panasonic Hpx250 camera instead of the FS100, this will solve your hdmi issue(sdi out) and will match your other Hpx 300s a lot better.
The Kipro might be more expensive but is tried and tested and is a perfect match for the hs400 with its XLR audio inputs, Audio meters, up down conversion, and you can record all day on a 500 gb drive. Not to mention timecode in and out.
Better to spend the money now, on something you know that will work(because you have been renting it) than taking a risk on new technology and workarounds that one day might end up biting you in the ass.Martin

Dvcpro in a p2 mxf format is totally universall and future poof.
As soon as it has been log and transfered into FCP it is not.
Do what Steve says and supply the original footage on a hardrive in P2 file structure.Remember you can edit the Meta data using P2CMS or P2 Viewer

There was a firmware update for the HPX300 that dealt with noise issues, Make sure you have the latest.
You could also experiment with lowering the detail and chroma levels in the scene file scettings, might improve thingsGood luck

try rendering those WMV files to Avi and you will probably have a easier time of it

PPCS3 Just drops a field so I would expect MB to be much better.
Maybe try your test again include some text and have look for jaggies

-3db gain and reducing detail seems to get rid of most of it.
However this does tend to limit the camera somewhat.Martin
