My method by renaming files is, that I always put a constant number at the end and the next needs to be a non numerical character. My individual images files are all named with “-0” at the end. Like

    YYYY-MM-DD_hh-mm_xxxx-0.tif
    2020-01-30_12-20_0001-0.tif
    2020-01-30_12-27_0002-0.tif
    2020-01-30_12-35_0003-0.tif
    2020-01-30_12-35_0004-0.tif

xxxx is the original sequential number of the camera.
In this case i can Drag and Drop from wherever I want. Even if there was a camera burst, it will not formed in a sequence by this method. JPG and DNG also works well.

In a project where I modified original batch render script for a round-trip via DaVinci Resolve I came to the same problem. What I found is that last frame from previous clip is used and with the correct clip length the last frame of the rendered clip is missing.

Maybe download .zip-file and try it. You will find it here:

It might be also helpful for you to look at another way of round-trip for Vegas Pro – DaVinci Resolve.

I found an economical way by DNxHD rendering the edited clips only by their needed lenght. This is done by some scripts and an EDL_Convert program. A saved text EDL will be adjusted that the final edit will include this “Head and Tail trim” as well as all transitions etc. say where they have to be.

Hence this concept can also be used by older versions of Sony Vegas Pro.

Description and download can be found here:

I would appreciate your opinions and maybe a feedback if you use it.
