well, i just exported as DNxHD and in the compressor settings i choose Alpha: uncompressed and the according resolution (in my case 1080p/25 DNxHD)

i was just working with titles coming from titler pro 3 either on solid background or on video. i did not encounter any trouble with the alpha channel this way.

    hi marc,

i agree, normally i will be better of doing the titles with the flattened file in my NLE. in this case i wanted to go with as less generations as possible. and fades i also usually do in resolve. but here the titles are built in titler pro 3 with baked in dissolves with the time elastic feature. comes in extremely handy when changing titles over and over again due to producers wishes 🙂

    cheers

    hey there,

thanks for your help. could not imagine, it’s so much easier than i thought.

    PROJECT SETTING: 2 K DCI scope 2.39
COLOR: grade and reframe (tilt) 1920×1080 footage within the 2.39 frame
DELIVER PAGE: set resolution for the DPX to 2K dci scope 2.39

–> dcpOpen creates a 2.39 full frame dcP

you mean rendering a prores HQ and insert this rendered clip in the timeline?
yes, that works. i just don’t understand, why resolve won’t bake in the title over the entire TIFF or DPX sequence. i would rather not take an intermediate render for final DCP output…

by the way: i also tried to deliver jpg2000 straight out of resolve. open_dcp won’t accept these files. strange ..?

thanks for the advice. it’s at least a work around that works**

    well, not all true.
now i get the FIRST of the four clips, where the titel is supposed to appear with the burnt in titel. the following three video clips are not rendered out. in the resulting dcp the pic jumps from the first clip with titel – leaving a hole of three clips – to the next clip without titel in the timeline….

    any suggestions? thanks!

i finally got it. as long as the decklink card is activated, the audio is routed only to this output.
deactivating deckling and restarting… the sound is back.

    thanks !

…if I connect my Blackmagic Intensitiy Extreme and hook my external monitor to it via HDMI i hear the sound on that external monitor.

so yes, the sound is definitely tthere. it just won’t play back on my iMac.
