yes. We had the same issues. It crashed everytime it tried to create a autobackup.
If it was set to backup every 10 min. it crashed every 10 min. if it was set to BU every 1 hour it crashed every 1 h.
We reported the problem to Blackmagic. They suggested to switch it to autosave instead of BU. That solved the problem.

    All the best

    Hi Gary
Yes i do also know about the VTR echange tool. But it’s not exactly good for onlining a 90 min feature 🙂

    yep, I know glue tools.
Well we don’t really have a problem, we use aja’s QTtoDPX tool to convert the captured rgb qt files to dpx for vfx.
As long as we don’t let FCP or any qt based software touch the material we’re fine :-). except after effects 8, with their new media core, so that our comp tool right now.
BTW i’m looking forward to the new version of glue tools, it has been announced that there should be easy setups for dpx = real time dpx playback in FCP. Now we just need capture 🙂

We are currently working on a Feature shot on DvcPro HD. We have onlined it in AJA RGB 10 bit Full range. And it works kind of great. Because we don’t strugle with conversion after capture when supplying the VFX folks with DPX files. But it looks like FCP has a problem with this. We cant render anithing in this codec in final cut without clipping an crushing blacks.
But we can export without cnversion without problems.

I know, i started the first thread about 3d luts and HD link Pro.
But as far as i can see, no one has given us a answer about the autodesk 3d luts not being recongnized by the HD link Pro.
Steve wrote that his lut should work, but i can’t make them work. So i’m curious if anyone made the work?

February 19, 2008 at 10:37 pm in reply to: AJA RGB Levels issue between Color and FCP

    hi creative_tech
    Have you solved the problem?
I have the exact same problem in FCP (I have’nt been in color yet). I’ve talked to AJA’s support about it but we have’nt been able to nail the problem.
I’ve done a lot of testing with smpte, full range.
The wierdest thing is that some clips play right, but others don’t.

there seems to be some issues with QT : https://www.fxguide.com/article462.html

All the VFX work we are doing on the film, we HAVE to do in After FX 8 (read the article) because all other comp programs crush blacks and clip whites.
I’m not sure if this “bug” in QT have something to do with our problem?!
