If you want to warp the insert to match the organic floppy nature of the paper, you’re either going to have to get manually creative with distortions and masks after the corner pin is applied, or you can try the warp mesh in the Insert Module in mocha Pro. We provide some specific tools for that: https://vimeo.com/206199475

You may have to elaborate here. Can you provide an example of what you’re trying to do exactly?

    Hi Clarke,

It’s best to check the following:
    1) If you have a mocha version older than V4, check to make sure you haven’t got the anchor keys still pasted to the transform data.
    2) Make sure your frame rate in mocha and AE match
    3) Make sure your Pixel Aspect Ratio in mocha and AE match
    4) Make sure you have pasted to the start of the timeline

Also, if your insert layer is not the same size as the composition, search for “Applying Corner Pin for Layers with different dimensions” in the mocha User Guide, as there are different workflows for dealing with that.

Although i’m surprised that you would be getting trouble if you’re using mochaImport+ as it normally covers all these contingencies.

The corner pin will always be the same size as the surface, but it is relative to the dimensions of the layer.
If your precomp is the same dimensions as the current comp, applying the exporting corner pin data will make it match the surface in mocha.

If you don’t want this and have set up your precomp to match the scene first, you will need to align your surface in mocha.
To do this, go to mocha and choose the “Align surface” button, which is the icon under the layer controls that looks like a square with arrows pointing out of the corners.

Once the surface is aligned to the dimensions of the footage, it will move relative to the tracking data as usual. Export your corner pin again and you should be fine.

The problem is you’re trying to paste corner pin data to a null object.

If you just need the motion of the null, you can use the Transform data export.

If you need to use the corner pin to insert a warped layer on the arm, you should apply it to that layer instead.

  • I’m not precisely sure what you’re trying to do (an image may help!), but if you want to match-move a beard to a person’s face, you will need to export the tracking data, not the shape data.

The shape data is just for masking the footage. The tracking data will move a layer in AE to match the motion of the object you have tracked.

You may need to watch a few tutorials to get an idea of how this is done:

    Hi Jeremy,

I assume you are the same Jeremy with the same issue you posted to our forums. I’ll follow up with you there and we can update this thread once you’ve found a solution.

    Hi Simon,

Sorry for the delay is reply. Unfortunately we still cannot reproduce this on our various El Capitan systems.

Can you please send me a screen grab or video capture of the issue and your mocha log to this address? martinb{at }imagineersystems.com

    Hi christian,

That video appears to be private right now. Can you change the view settings?

    Hi Simon,

I’ve not been able to reproduce this on our 10.11.2 system. Are you on the latest update of AE CC 2015?
Which particular Mac are you using?

Can you try going to the OpenGL tab in preferences and turning on “Disable Offscreen Buffers”? You will need to restart mocha after doing this.
