OK guys, thanks. The one that didn’t want to list is called Unmultiply and is circa 2013 which is probably when I installed CS6 initially and is the date on most of the aex files in that folder. The one from Mekajiki’s site is named UnMult and is dated 2017 & that one lists. I thought that was the one I had originally as I do recall that spelling but didn’t think I’d gotten if from Mekajiki.
I’m wondering now if it was actually pre CS6 days that I’d last used it. Current system is Win7 Pro, 64-bit and I bet the problem one isn’t 32-bit.
Anyway, I’m back to where I thought I was.

Hey again Lori. Hopefully Martin B. will chime in here as he’d be able to give you a lot more info. This issue was a bit of a known problem with the Pro version (waiting for the next release myself) but can’t say for certain if thats the case with the AE version too.
W/O knowing your shot, in some cases it’s possible to keep your spline as it is but actually track a different area and accomplish what your after. I’ve done this with a test shot I did some time ago, but it’s “fiddly” process to verbally describe as to how to go about it. See if you can search through the various Mocha tutorials on Vimeo. Seems it had something to do with tracking lights on a playground, but there may be others. I recently had a system restore go awry and over-wrote all of my archived tutorial saves so can’t give you any sort of clue as to title or presenter. Other than that, perhaps simple register with the Mocha forum at Boris FX:

Kinda working blind here, but confirm that the starting frame for both project 7 Mocha are the same & that you’re at the head of the clip when pasting.

In short, yes. Matching to your subject is always the best way to go.
That being said, and assuming that the rest of your workflow from aquisition through editing is all digital, you’ve a LOT more control that simply wasn’t possible with silver-halide technology. You CAN selectively adjust a color curve w/o affecting the others.
Also, with digital technology & HDR range these days, your eye IS your best meter. No need to get hung up & distracted by the minutia. Refer to your God monitor if you have one. If it looks good then it is & any minor tweeks can still be done in post.

With incandescent & HMI lights, sure. With LED’s, no. A “warm” (i.e. 3200K) LED is manufactured to already be emmiting at that spectrum so you’re getting more output that way rather than “throwing away” light by gelling a 5500 LED source. The color temps in between are often just a blending of the two outputs.
