Is there something we can’t see on a layer above that’s polluting with a transfer mode? In other words, if you make a new comp with just that shape layer & color does it still give the anomoly?

The EB3D3E value in the toolbar fill box matches the color I get BTW; it’s the resulting shape color that’s more muted that makes me suspicious. It sounds as if the muted color is what you’re after though & why the render wouldn’t match that is curious. What color depth is your Project set to?

Element does get a bit fiddly when it comes to those sorts of things. It’s probably something to do with the illumination setting on the text extrusion itself if you applied one of the preset bevels rather than the comp light settings although that can be a factor.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Melisa,

I’m about to head of to work so can’t dig into it very deep just now. It might have something to do with the transfer modes you’ve set, but if not I’ll ask some more specifing things to look at later tonight.

Would the Simple Choker effect fix it for you?

Have you considered or played around with simply using different transfer modes for the various layers, probably using shape layers?

It would require purchasing a very useful $50 plug-in but you might want to take a look at this:

What do you have going on in the comp at that point?

The ususal diagnositic process is to disable effects, expressions, and the like until you isolate whats causing the problem. Since it’s happening at the same spot, it should be easier to find than something intermittant. Keep sleuthing.

Have you taken a peak at the Task Manager?

It appears you’re rendering out to an MP4 in which case you’ll lose whats been done. Best advice is to render out as an image sequence then convert afterwards. That might also help diagnose what or at least where your hitting a bottlenck.

Certainly. Just render as an image sequence. Remember to change the frame range though in the Render Queue for each past so you don’t over-write the earlier frames.

That’s pretty vague, and w/o being able to see your timeline one can only guess, but have you simply enabled the Motion Blur switch for both the comp & animated layers?
