Reading between the lines of your posts, it sounds like you would benefit from some research into FCP media/project management. Shane’s done a whole DVD about it. Google it.
Here’s the quick answer. With FCP, the “Project” is meaningless! Use the mac “finder level” to organize your media. You can have hundreds of projects all referencing the same media. We have a few x-sans that reference over 200 Tb of media. It’s NOT the media that dictates project size.
Would you perhaps be coming from an Avid background where everything is “project centric”? That’s just NOT the case with FCP.
And… as for hundred of sequences???? Yikes. What are you thinking?

Don’t know about the Cinemon plug in , but I agree with Rafael and Shane about working with XdCAM natively. If your drives can support the multi streams and you’re using an Intel computer (NOT G5), then this is definitely the way to go.
The key is to set renders to PRORES, NOT “same as sequence”.

Changing by the minute. The tragic events in Japan have caused the nets to reconsider their requirements.
Delivery requirements always lag a few years behind the technology. For that matter, so do budgets.
It takes awhile for the less technical minded (business affairs/accounting) to wake up to the fact that the world has changed and address those changes within the budgets/delivery requirements.The larger the organization, the slower the change. But, change WILL happen eventually. Inevitably. Incrementally.

We use Apple’s X-SAN tied to Active Storage X-RAIDs. With over five years of uptime, it’s been a
workhorse for us. Will this be the right choice for you? I have no idea. It depends on what your needs are. So, your question is like “How long is a piece of string?” There’s just too many potential solutions for
you to ask everyone , “What do you like?” Better you say, “Here’s my needs: Specifically citing bandwidth, storage, and reliability requirements. Who has a similar set up?”If I were you, I’d really ask, “here’s the city where I live. Who knows a good VAR there?”

There are many, many solutions out there. Having just returned from NAB, walking miles (literally) of
ailes of vendors, I know that one of them is just right for you. Which one? I can’t possibly know. Only
you can decide. In your situation, there is no “This is the best” answer. There are at least a dozen companies that can supply you with a workable system.Having said that, your choice of equipment is driven by your own specific needs, budget, etc. That is why Bob suggested contacting all of the vendors advertising on these pages to hear their pitch. Only then can you decide what’s right for you.
If you’re unable/uninterested in doing the homework, then find a trusted VAR to guide you through the process. Expect to pay for that service.
