  • I wonder if the keyframing is “keyframing” as in the crap we have with Studio3, or if it is decent, bezier-able etc…

MOSTLY I wonder if one can see which PARTS of a clip have been used in a timeline… something Avid had over 12 years ago… do I know which parts of shots in a timeline have been used more than once?

Thank god the interface has changed, I really disliked the light grey current look.

  • Hey bob and david,

yeah, we do have a bit of a common track record wrt the NLE system we are using suddenly changing or EOLing… but i do hope some of the “jaw dropping awesomeness” is more than just the usual Steve Jobs salesman crap.

for me Id like some massive improvements to Motion and integration with FCP, and a complete rewrite of the internal keyframe editor which is far and away the worst in the industry. Then it would be great to not have to render AUDIO (good grief) before playing back, and to allow background rendering. If they have all that and have 1000 useless-to-me features for ipad users, I will still be happy…

Bobarama, life in the UK is alright at the moment, im pretty settled here, work is alright, been reinventing things quite a bit, but fine.

    How things with you guys?

Catchyaal later, and certainly in the next few hours (though i will probably be asleep while you guys get the scoop…)

  • [David Roth Weiss] “All we really need to know is, is it really “awesome?””

    Hey David!

well yeah, and perhaps more importantly , “awesome” to whom? if it’s awesome to steve jobs and 10,000,000 ipad users, I will be sickened. I have a horrid feeling this is going to be a giant dumbing down and glossing up rather than a massive (“awesome”) reworking of existing and addition of high-end features.

By 8pm pacific time tonight I guess we will all know…

    How’r you anyway old sport?

    Thanks Paul, Dave and Michael,

I will try the Zaxwerks first as it seems to be free… will try tomorrow morning. As far as I know the Boris is only available in a whole suite of Boris plugins, so a bit pricey for the one trick I need… but will bear it in mind.

Cheers guys, may post success story later in the week!

  • Ok cool, thanks for the warning… Perhaps I will open one, test it, open another, test it… just to make sure each one works…

but I am pretty happy about that, great for conference/concert shooting.

    cheers

  • Hi Ron

[Ron Pestes] “I am still on the original firmware. I don’t remember what number it is. I bought the camera in Feb. or 09.”

I have just upgraded my camera to 1.25, it’s pretty easy to do, there is a vimeo video explaining (at an incredibly tediously slow pace) how to do it.

We will see, I have just bought another Transcend, this time it is ORANGE and we will see if the different firmware and different memory stick make a difference!

Thanks for the input, I will report back.
    Cheers,
    Mark

  • Ron, what firmware are you using?

March 8, 2011 at 2:51 pm in reply to: Were in Menu is Version?

[Daniel Startek] “The version is in the Maintenance menu. When powered ON, press menu + sel/set + cancel together. Go to the IF (information) menu.”

This ONLY works if you press the back buttons, and does not work if you press the buttons on top of the camera.

This command reminds me of first trying to eject a CD disk on an apple computer, drag to the TRASH to eject… reeeeally logical hey? Not sure why it is hidden…

  • Hi guys,
My camera has firmware version 1.14_0543

So AFAIK should be fine with 32gb cards, no?
