32GB SDHC cards that work? – SanDisk Extreme 30MB/s Edition?
Posted by Mark Palmos on March 3, 2011 at 5:15 pmHello guys,
Well, it seems the cheaper 32gb SD cards do not work without errors, I have tried class 10 Fuji and Transcend.
I have searched this forum but cant find a thread which lists 32gb cards that DO work without a problem, so thought I should start one.
Does anyone know if this card works without a problem:
SanDisk Extreme 30MB/s Edition – 32GB – Class10
Please name cards you know work for long recordings (90min plus)
Thanks!

March 4, 2011 at 3:36 amHmm, I have been using a 32 gig Transend card for several months with no problem. I have run it for 2 hr. straight through and cranked to 46 fps with no problem. Over 46 and it spat out an error.

March 4, 2011 at 8:39 amwow, bizarre, I had bought the 32gb transcends, class 10, and they would not work beyond 27 or 13 minutes at a go.
What class disks, what model etc?

March 4, 2011 at 4:01 pmI’d like to point out that none of our Sony SxS cards have had such errors. In my case, that is worth the price. 🙂

March 4, 2011 at 4:10 pmI am using class 6. It has a red stripe across it. I have heard that some work fine and others don’t. I am also still using the original firmware on my EX-3. I have read that upgrading the firmware makes more cards work but I have not done that yet.

March 4, 2011 at 4:21 pmFirst, is your firmware updated? Are you using the EX-1 or EX-1r?
I had issues with the Transcends before updating my firmware. Non after.
I also have a 32G SxS. It’ proven it’s worth, even after having a battery go dead during a long 1 1/2 recording session. No loss of data.

March 8, 2011 at 1:58 pmHi Brent,
Tx for the response, I updated the firmware a couple of years ago, am not sure if it is 1.1 or 1.2, and do not know how to check… do you?I have the EX-1
My Transcend 8gb have been flawless, I NEVER use my two 8gb sxs sticks anymore, could not bother really… and would not like to give Sony an insane amount of money for a memory stick.
Tx again,

March 8, 2011 at 2:00 pmTx Ron,
I have returned mine, they did not have a red stripe across them… blue sticks, with blue sticker with rainbow and green stripe where it says LOCK… same as my 8gb Transcends which work fine!Mark

March 8, 2011 at 2:02 pmmate, Id like to point out that i was not asking about sxs and how reliable people find them. I want to buy 32 gb SD cards that work as reliably as the 8gb SD cards I have already.
