Actually I got a reply from another forum. I hadn’t checked Evaluate Transparency in the render settings.
    Thanks!

it is in deed. are you saying I should mask out the bad areas and key frame the whole thing to have the mask follow the actors’ movements?
if that is what you’re saying, you should know that this is about 30 minutes long and they move a lot. if that isn’t what you’re saying, please help me understand.
    Thanks for your help!

alright, i’ve tried a couple other codecs and the same problem is still happening. could it be due to the comp settings?

i exported them as animation files, so i’m not sure exactly what codec that uses.
thanks, i’ll try maybe a different codec.

how i got the footage : i ripped it from the dvds using mac the ripper and then converted them to mp4’s using handbrake. i then used quicktime to take smaller clips and export them to .mov files which i imported into AE.
    any suggestions? thanks a lot

to be more specific, i’m looking for a way to ease keyframes that are put on the “center point” in the motion tab for my footage. i can do it on the “scale” keyframes (it’s called ‘smooth’ i guess) but i can’t do it for the center point.
