Sorry, this has been fixed for me, but I can’t remember what the cure was. I know I just googled the error message and eventually came to the solution several pages into my search. I’ll post if it comes back to me.

Bob, I agree the scroll speed problem is even worse.I read all kinds of advice about how many seconds per screen to use and the tutorial mentioned above, talks about an industry standard of 300pixels per second. Now that’s rediculously fast. Maybe that works on a 4K sized screen!! No matter what I do, I always end up with twittering titles. There is obviously a ‘deeper magic’ that people are not revealing so that they can charge $200 an hour to do titles. I’ve just reviewed some Holleywood feature film credits and they’re rock steady and take about 8 sec per screen.

Coming back to Boris. The tab thing doesn’t seen to help me. I’m importing a large text file with all the credits on it.
Within Boris I have 2 tabs to mark the blank center column. I then set up each line in the text file to be:
tab, tab, charactername, tab, actor name
The file then imports OK (sort of) but trying to get something center aligned is weird.
What does clicking on the alignmnet button within Boris apply to?
The text you’ve just typed? Because it certainly doesn’t apply to any text you select and hilight!

The whole alignment and tab stop arrangement is incredibly confusing within Boris. What you would like to happen, is to select a set of lines and click say center justify. Then select a new set of lines and right justify. (just like in Word for example or Photoshop) If you try this it just doesn’t work and it’s rather incomprehensible what does. I’ve been trying for an hour now to enter a typical film credit scroll with a center blank column and I can’t work it out even after following that tutorial. I have a blank center column OK, but if you try having some text center justified half way down your scroll, good luck on making it work. Some instructions would be handy!!!

If I run a test using Media Manager to recompress to 720 x 576, then, when I open the clip in Quicktime it’s all width-wise squashed and the clip is not marked as Anamorphic.

Blackbana, did you receive any solution for this problem?
I have just got exactly the same error on my Mac Pro, including the Out of Memory! error.
I have an AJA card too

I just monitored my memory and the crash occurred around 1.5GB of mem usage.
I’d like to think that this is a fix, but it looks to me like there’s some kind of memory leak.
Who knows if perhaps now you can edit for 80 mins instead of 40!

I also have had the system crash after simply starting it up – not often, but it does happen.

It’s hard to see how this problem wouldn’t surface in testing?

(But then again I’m a bit jaundiced as I’m a Mac user and hate Windows! 🙂

Have you had any success curing your crashes?
I have 2GB of mem on my Dell with P.Pro 2, Cineform Prospect 2K.
I’m trying to edit a mixture of HD 25p files and 2K 24p files
It hangs all the time. It’s incredibly frustrating.
I’ve tried the re-install thing, but it’s obviously nothing to do with that.
I’m only on a PC system because of Cineform and it’s confirmed all my worst fears.
