why dont you output to file rather than tape and give it to them on a 8.5Gb dvd as data or a small 320 gb hard drive they only cost about 45.oo

print to tape i would think if not try the other…

make sure you are using firewire in to the camera or tape deck

hi try turning the hvr1e first and make sure its plugged in to the firewire cable thats attached to your mac.
then open final cut pro it should sense the connection and allow you to output to tape..

    hope this helps

  • I wish final cut pro would make the feature that imovie has of connecting the deck and clicking capture the deck rolls back to the beginning of the tape for you and automatically starts recording the video and stops at the end ideal for those long shoots like stage plays etc where you have two cameras and need to take everything in.
If FCP could organise that it would be great

Hiya are you looking at the BPAV folder with the sony xdcam log and transfer software.

did you down load the SXS card reader software but beware I installed it and then had to remove from my 15″ unibody mac 254 processor as it slowed everything down so much. but the log and transfer works now on fcp7.0

    hope this helps

Or try movin the playhead to the desired position and then move the audio clip to it with snapping on it will go exactly where the control line is over your edit

Hi I have also had a problem with lip sync filmed hdv 1080p 50 and edited in the correct format on fcp 7
Master to tape and 45 mins in the lip sync is gone over 3secs out.
If any one has an answer for this I’d appreciate it too.
