  • Thanks…the spots developed while I was in the field shooting, and I couldn’t get the camera cleaned until I got back home. Trying to salvage the video and make it as clean as possible. It wasn’t actually a dust spot…the technicians advised me that Canon DSLR’s have a nasty little habit of throwing minute drops of lubricant off the shutter mechanism over time, and this is the second time I’ve had a dark spot in the same place that needed to be cleaned.

I’ll try these ideas on a clip…was able to clean them up frame by frame in the final output over the weekend with no loss of quality.

    Thanks!

Just build your DVD with the .avi files and let Encore DVD do the encoding for you…

    HTH…

Geez…I hope that’s not the case. It would make importing a bunch of clips at the same time impossible!

Thanks for the suggestions, guys…I’ll give them a try!

    Chip:

Send me the details…I’ll be glad to help since it’s for a final exam and not for commercial work. I’ve posted my e-mail address to you through your web site…

Thanks for the quick response…I had no other applications running, and even went into Task Manager to close anything in the background that I could live without…also re-booted. I’m figuring out a workaround with a shorter version that rendered before the crash…
