Thanks, Rafael. I have a large Cinema HD Mac monitor and everything enlarged on my FCP layout. So sure enough, I lowered my canvas from 126% to 100% and the picture is much improved. Just did not realize that simple condition.

    I think I’m there now!

Thanks again and best of luck.

No, Shane. No stills in this show. Only video from the same camera source and three stock footage (HD) video clips.

For clarification, I have blown out this Mac and performed a complete from scratch re install since this project file was originally created. I figured there may be some codec file it originally married to, was missing now.

Some of the original QT media files are missing and I am re ingesting now from the MXF files to see if I can re assemble the timeline seamlessly. I’ll update the thread if all renders and outputs normal, and if the error message continues to appear when opening a fully rendered timeline.

    Thanks.

Okay, Jeremy. Thanks. I’ll try some different configurations. I’m a Producer with an offline FC system and I am still learning, especially when it comes to appropriate sequence settings.

Hi, Bouke. Actually, someone else out there is pulling their hair out too, I guess! No, this is the first time for me with this, but I very much appreciate your response. At least I know I am doing all I can do. I will try your keyboard macro and see if that helps.

Thank you for your generosity and best of luck!

Hi. Any input here would be appreciated. Dying with this laborious manual routine!

    Thanks!

The machine is (or was, it was a rental and since been returned) a Panasonic AJ-HD 1400.

I have a BetaCamSP deck and Blackmagic card which I am going to hook back up and see if it will perform a digitize edit.

I will do my best to answer, as I am a layman with this. Bear with me!

Not sure where I got the term DVC Pro 50. Was always in my head. The Tapes Are DVC Pro. The recording is 1080i HD shot at 60 fps.

I have a hunch about the sync problem, but I cannot replicate it to confirm because of my now bigger problem:

If you capture afresh, not batch capture a sequence but log and capture, does FCP make a file that’s fine?

It did for a while and I must have changed a setting because now I cannot log an in/out point and to a single file capture. HOWEVER, if I insert another DVC Pro tape, open another show project (this one 720p 23.98), change the “capture/input” setting accordingly, wa-la, it captures fine. I have something mismatched in the settings when I tinkered trying to figure out the audio sync issue. But I went back through and thought I returned everything to the way it was when it was working.

I realize I’m not giving you much to go on. I wish I could just start a new project file and quit chasing it, but the audio/video presets seem to stay where they are when I start a new project.

Sorry I cannot answer at a higher level for you.

NEVER MIND, NEVER MIND! I FIGURED THIS ONE OUT.

This was a pre set issue. I was told the format of the recordings incorrectly. I went back and changed the “Capture Preset” from 720p 24 to 1080i 60 and PRESTO the picture is clean.

Sorry for taking anyone’s valuable time. I hope I caught this in time to not waste YOUR time!

    Thanks!
