Okay, Todd. So, it sounds like from you that this is just an artifact of FC and learn to work around it. Odd, that I’ve never encountered this before. But, it does resolve itself relatively easy. So, I’ll just keep moving forward.

Thanks for also validating that I’m not crazy! I printed your response and gave it to my Wife as support. She didn’t buy it, and said, go back to your black hole!

Okay, thanks for the suggestions. Appreciated.

I’ve got 14gigs of RAM, 9gigs available when this action occurs. I’ll keep an eye out for any clues and post if I discover.

Thanks, Rafael. But it is not exclusive to RealPlayer. If I switch taps from FC to my browser and play back a YouTube video, then go back to FC, same issue.

Sounds like if this issue doesn’t ring a bell to FC people here, then it must be something quirky with my video card on this end and maybe independent of FC.

Hi. Closest thread I’ve found to my need. Control L works for me to link a single video/audio pair. Is there a way to highlight and link multiple groups of pairs? I’m presuming FC would not understand which pairs should link with which, but I thought I would ask. I have hundreds of unlinked clips many timelines that need to be linked. Was hoping not to have to do each one individually.

OMG! I know that’s a FC 101 thing, but I would have had no idea to search for “audio scrubbing”.

That was it. Thank you, and thank you for your patience with the question!

  • Hi, Walter. I notice you mentioned your facility has the 4 bay WeibeTech RTX-400. I am very interested in that unit and would like your opinion on a choice I have to make, if you don’t mind.

Currently I have a DULCE PRODQg2 16TB I use for FC editing. Amazing piece of hardware. I love it, but VERY expensive. However, I live near DULCE and already had an emergency run to replace the power supply. They had me back up in hours. Whew! That has value.

I need RAID 5 storage space, but I want to use the drive as much for moving and accessing files as for Archiving. Speed is not the first priority, but reasonably important.

DULCE offered me a ProQ 4-bay unit with 3TB drives around $4,300

Even though it is PCIe and lightening fast, I’m curious from you if all I need is safe accessible storage, if I’m buying too much speed when I could buy TWO RTX-400’s for that price range.

One last thing. The 3 1/2 year DULCE warranty and “security” feeling plays a reasonable role. These guys hand delivered my fixed unit right to my front door, NO COST. I’m storing multi-million dollar marketing campaign shows. Can’t lose data!

Any advise and input will be greatly appreciated.

Cool. Thanks Jeff. Appreciate your support.

I hope I’m not pushing it with the non-FC question, but do you have any idea where to point me for the that Toast function to lessen the compression? I don’t see it. If not, no worries.

Thanks, Jeff. At least I know now not to be surprised by the size difference.

If I figure out in Toast where the “less compressed function is, will that improve the viewing quality?
