So here’s one that’s been bugging me for some time now and hope it rings someone’s knowledge bell.

When working in FC, if I open a stand alone video for playback outside FC and particularly an flv file with Realtime Player (happens with others too), when I switch the window back to FC the video playback in the Canvas is frozen. Playing from the timeline, the audio plays fine, the timeline needle functions normal, even the Viewer plays back video fine. Everything works fine except the Canvas sits there in a single frame or two loop, like a bad hip hop stuttering video!

My only found solution is to close and re start FC. Everything is back to normal, but a time waster and hassle.

Any ideas for re set type solutions within the open FC to save re booting?

That sounds more to a problem with Real Player or whatever other app you are using than with FC.
Try to use QT Player instead.

Thanks, Rafael. But it is not exclusive to RealPlayer. If I switch taps from FC to my browser and play back a YouTube video, then go back to FC, same issue.

Sounds like if this issue doesn’t ring a bell to FC people here, then it must be something quirky with my video card on this end and maybe independent of FC.

I think is not about Real Player, but the Flash files.
Playing Flash files eats lot of CPU/RAM (just have a look to the Activity Monitor while you play) and the problem is that some times the player do not free the memory when stops or is closed.

Okay, thanks for the suggestions. Appreciated.

I’ve got 14gigs of RAM, 9gigs available when this action occurs. I’ll keep an eye out for any clues and post if I discover.
