I don’t know if this will solve your problem but whenever I put a new disc in the PDW-U1 and i click on import the disc reader is not seen the first time. I have to cancel out of that and try to import again and then the disc drive is recognized.

    hope it helps.

You can write back to the PDW-U1 but first you will have to do a firmware update that you can get here:

I stumbled across a possible solution buried deep in the Avid DS forums. The suggestion was to open the ALE in “Wordpad”. Then you switch the headings of the ‘NAME’ column and the ‘SUBCLIPTITLE’ column. Open the ALE in Log Exchange then import into Avid. I was able to bring in the clips the producer had requested. I did not try this with proxy clips. I brought in the hirez only. One frustrating thing is that when I did a batch import I had to tell it where to find each clip which is rather time consuming. It was also rather slow in bringing in the clips. I think it has to do with bringing in only part of each clip. I have only done this once so far so it this works for you and you figure out any improvements to this work flow please let me know.
