Looking forward to your evaluation!

I am a new owner, and am having some issues. Are they the normal, or are they an anomaly?

1. Occasional unexpected shut down with “Battery Low” warning” … when battery is not low ..

2. After such a shut down there have been occasions where the unit is re-set to “Custom Clip ON” which makes the unit re-record over the previous take. (!)

3. Runs very hot … sizzeling.

BTW .. I am not having trouble keeping track of card usage … I use 32 GB cards, and change them out with the tapes that I am running for back-up.

HDX900 owner here, Just started using the Mini …

Then what is the point of going to the trouble of in-putting SC/TK info ?! For a unit that is dedicated to feeding Final Cut, … whats up?

An easy way to have confidence that, in the thick of things, you are indeed rolling when you think you are … would be WARNING TONES in the AUDIO monitor out. Beep for warning … solid tone for stopped. Just like every broadcast camera out there.

Also, any hope for card spanning in future firmware? Would be huge.
Choices are coming, gotta keep up.

What docco shooter has not rolled when he thought he was stopped, and the heartbreaking reverse. Stuff happens out there. Big red lights would be appreciated.

Anyone else from AJA want to say something along the lines of ..

We had this problem with a very used deck bought from Abel … sent it back for ajustment, with no improvement. They said they did not have the tools to align the new tapes yet … I thought that is quite odd.

We will return this deck, but in any case I am now worried that the HDX is NOT totally compatable with the 1200 decks, and that HDX owners are setting themselves up to look bad after having said that our tapes are compatable with vericam decks.

This is a problem!

Abel shoud get their story streight!

Panasonic should step up and get information out!

Panasonic should also blast out information giving assistance for bringing decks up to spec. It should be clear that the decks with problems with the HDX tapes are at fault and not the cameras, and that the HDX owners have not lied to their clients about compatability.

This is a problem. Don’t be like Sony and try to sweep it under the rug.

Just took our HDX to Iceland for a short shoot for PBS Nova.
You could shoot all say and not realize you were not shooting with an SDX.
Playback looks very pretty indeed.

We had error messages, and image errors from the 1200 deck … (Vericam tapes played fine) … sent it back to Abel for “adjustment for HDX codec” I am eager to find out exactly what was up with that, and whether we will encounter any other strangeness with playback on other peoples decks.

Don’t want any client surprises …
