No brainer then i’d say.
It would be great if we could have test results for pcie extender also that one could have
san connectivity and rocket at the same time.—

EDL works nicely.
As manual points you also have scene detection.
So it is pretty simple i’d say.I have had trouble with avid > fcp roundtrip.
I really hate avid edl that does not work 🙂One of my customers did offline with avid and gave me edl.
I had master on digibeta. Results were “wonderful”Mostly i had to cut manually in fcp as there is no scene detection with fcp.
As far as i know EDL is nice with fcp.

Agree with the size point 🙂
I bet it is bit more tricky to support lan based control panel in software maybe ?
I have my fingers crossed for MC.
Have not tested them side by side.

Id say main reason to swap from color is speed and result.
You do not use less time for jobs but get better results in the same time as you have more power to play around for better results.
It will make so big difference i think that bit more investments to gear is really not a reason
not to swap. Most stuff you need any way despite color or resolve. Why not go with the faster solution then ?This was my initial reason to on mac from pc. Stuff got done faster and better as the tools gave us more possibilities in time.

Like i mentioned. Systematical behavior when installing and when debuging it.
Sometimes on windows you have bad irq setup which makes all go haywire.
A lot of possibilities. As i see if BM have tested one working configuration and then it will probably work exactly the same way. If you make version 2001 from the same configuration then it probably will not work.
But lets be honest. It still is pretty cheap so you can test it and configure it and play around a bit.
If it will not work buy ready made combo or send it to some integrator who will test it out and tune.—

Some controllers are bad by default. They just are to slow because the way they are built.

I think it is not as simple.
There is things on windows that may go wrong.
Wrong slot, wrong driver, wrong installing order, bad system update etc.
I have not too good memories from windows like i have on mac.
It is like with servers. You install in certain steps, always record them
and if something goes wrong you go back and see where it went wrong.It can be that the unit that you have is bad in some way but hey stuff does break and it is normal.
If configuration is bad then one should use integrators help here.
If units are not tested then it is not conclusive if the unit does something or is the configuration part bad.
