hi,
many thanks for your answer.

Yes i do render the clips, so the green line turns to blue…
and no i do not receive any notifications as to their disappearance…
but every time i render, save and then for whatever reason i close the sequence and the reopen it these green lines reappear….

it seems to happen only to the clips I have applied smooth cam on….
its turning out to be quite a mystery i must confess…..

well its not the clips that are white but just the space between the clips and the top of the timeline where the seconds are nummbered.
playing up means that it doubles up effects names while you scroll down. it kinda superimposes words on words (stuff previous on the list on top of new stuff)…i hope this makes it a bit more clear.
the clips are in any case online. i also tried other projects and they all had the same problem…..

that makes sense…
but what about the hdv 1080i50 sequence, i am just trying to print back to tape on a Sony fx1 that should work in principle since its the camera from which the footage originally came from…right?!?

it looks right now as if the usb camera port is not working.i can get no communication between the 2. Will try and log the footage in with the help of a card reader in a macbookpro.

these are my system requirements:

osx 10.5.6
Final Cut Pro v.6.0.5
Quicktime v.7.6
# Sony Transfer Tool – any Mac version
# Sony FAM driver – any Mac version
from what it looks like so far i have everything i need to be able to read the footage, nonetheless when i launch the transfer programe, (either on its own or through fcp) i get an empty window (it cannot detect any clips)
i have tried to connect the camera with both the firewire (ilink) and usb cables with no sucess,
i am also supposed to get a message from the camera saying that its connected through a usb post to a comp…but i am not getting that either…..
….
any ideas….this is confusing me…terribly 🙁
