    dear all
    I have two types of sequences in fcp: a dvcpro HD 720p60 and a HDV 1080i50 both of which i want to print onto tape through a fx1 sony video camera…but i just do not seem to be able to….
    i can see the image though the camera viewer but cannot record it…. any suggestions?

    You will never be able to print to tape a DVCPro HD sequence with a HDV camera.

    You will need a DVC Pro HD deck.

    What Steve said. The only way you’ll get that to work is if you have something like an AJA Kona board that will send that DVCPro HD timeline down an SDI cable to an input on a camera which I don’t think that camera has.

    that makes sense…
    but what about the hdv 1080i50 sequence, i am just trying to print back to tape on a Sony fx1 that should work in principle since its the camera from which the footage originally came from…right?!?

    As long as the camera is set up in 1080i/50, can be controlled via firewire, and FCP is in the Easy Setup HDV 1080i/50 then it should work.
