    hi,
I am running final cut pro 6.0.6 on a 2x 3.2 ghz quad core intel apple with 6 gb 800 mgh ram.
all of the sudden Parts of my timeline (the top to be exact) are turning white as if I am running out of memory. The effects drop down menu has also rather abruptly started playing up. I just tried to render sth and i got a general error. any idea what might be causing this? I am starting a whole week editing project tomorrow and i’d like to get to the bottom of this!
    many many thanxs!

Out of memory? White clips in a sequence means that the media is offline.

What do you mean by “playing up”

well its not the clips that are white but just the space between the clips and the top of the timeline where the seconds are nummbered.
playing up means that it doubles up effects names while you scroll down. it kinda superimposes words on words (stuff previous on the list on top of new stuff)…i hope this makes it a bit more clear.
the clips are in any case online. i also tried other projects and they all had the same problem…..

    thanxs is advance!
