    Hi Mark,

    Mille mercis, I’m 95 % of the way there. Just need to refine the spline primitive shape and position and I should get what I need. Thanks a bunch, have a good weekend,

    Hi,

    Although not refreshed as the file plays, MPEG Streamclip gives you some file info Menu -> File -> Show stream info.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your insights. I’ve thought many times about going straight into the Mac but although I’ve never needed them, I’ve always found having the B’cam tapes as a back-up a comforting thought.

    The 2 separate booths is a bit out of reach at this point but the method you mention, putting a bit of space between the two narrators, just confirms what I was planning to do as a viable scenario.

    Thanks for your time,

    March 4, 2007 at 10:07 pm in reply to: OT – UVW-100 batteries

    I own and edit on a Media 100 system and have come to count on and trust the opinions and insights of most of the members of this forum. Being a one man shop, I also shoot most of the material I edit as do, I suspect, a number of other participants on this forum thus I figured some of them may have knowledge and experience relevant to my query. The “OT” preceding my post clearly indicates I know and acknowledge the post is Off Topic but I figured I’d tap the collective knowledge and good will of this community.

    So, what do you think of the newer Li-Ion batteries for use with UVW-100 cameras . . .

    Thank you both for your prompt response. As much as I enjoy updating and tweaking my own PCs to wring the last bit of speed and efficiency out of them, in this case, I think I’ll leave well enough alone and go with the “If it ain’t broke” approach. Unless there are major speed or functionality enhancements in updating to OS X 10.3.9/M100 v. 8.2.3a/QT 7 I think I’ll stick with my current configuration, I can literally count on the fingers of one hand the crashes I’ve had since my M100 8.2.3 update. Oh, and by the way, that’s running a 1.8GHz SonnetTech Encore/ST G4 Duet processor upgrade.

    Again, thank you both for your time and advice,

    Marc

    January 25, 2007 at 6:41 pm in reply to: Applying changes to all titles in timeline

    Thank you both for your suggestions;

    Mark – That’s pretty much the way I’ve been doing it. At least using the Style Palette the changes are consistent and no parameter gets forgotten the Nth time you apply the changes.

    Peter – Sounds interesting but I generally get one big, badly translated MS word document I have to proofread, correct and cut up to match voice over text and timing. Already formatted sub-titles files . . . I can only wish.

    Thanks,

    Marc
