    Hi

Yes like a corner pin where you can isolate one corner of say a square so one point can be separatley moved while the other points stay fixed.

Sorry meant to skew the corners of a layer. I’ve imported a piece of 3D text and want to more one of the edges to fit a certain angle

Yes I do exactly that on my MacPro BUT the question was regarding a brand new MBP like I stated in the first line o the thread. I did think I could just do what I’d done on my MacPro but apparently brand new machines with Lion pre installed won’t run SL properly…..

Apparently if you buy a brand new MBP with Lion installed you can install an older OS on it i.e SL??

    Hi thanks for the reply

Thats kind of what I thought because I could find any settings in PS to select what depth the files are to be saved in. That clears it up.

    Many thanks.

Strangely it was already set to AE as the default in the get info window so I just clicked on the drop down selection to see what else was in there I went out of that widow and tried opening the file again and it then defaulted to AE to open them files……….so it worked;-)

    Thanks

    Hi

When I do a basic render from C4D no multipass just the one file then take the .aec file into AE and open it I can select the ‘Toggle transparency grid’ and see the transparent BG (the alpha)

However if I perform a multipass render and select all the relevant layers that make up the scene and save that .aec file and open it in AE then open that comp there is no transparency (when I use the toggle transparency grid function) Craig alluded to the fact that the combination of the layers are additive https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/19/875152 so therefore I can’t see the transparency. I don’t understand the concept of matting it with the RGB channel like Craig suggested.

After a few renders I have successfully been able to render out a basic scene (top of this post) and use object buffers to change the colours of the text which was the main problem BUT I don’t then have control over the other multipass sections.

Thanks for your patience in this I’m currently climbing a big learning curve which thankfully I’m enjoying!

    Thanks
