Ok, so I’m not as freaked out as I was a moment ago…

The beauty is, I have the .MTS files and I just did a quick conversion using Handbrake.

This means that my videos are still there, but I need an application that will keep the conversion quality (720 60P) just as good as FCP.

    Any suggestions?

The video is great and all, but it’s kind of nice to have the option to print something out.

I too replaced the HD in my MacBook Pro and replaced it with a larger, faster (7200 RPM + more cache), Seagate drive from Best Buy. I just printed the instructions and off I went…

This website has instructions for pretty much everything, and the nice thing is they are model specific.

One other piece of advice I have is to make sure you keep all of the screws separated. I basically placed them on a piece of paper and noted what step it was that was associated to their removal (I hope that makes sense).

Super easy! This is the cleanest video I’ve ever laid eyes on in FCP.

    Thanks for your help Joey.

    Cheers.

    Hey Noah, (and everyone else)

I just purchased this camera as well, and it should arrive at my door today. Anyhow, I’ve used HDV in FCP, and usually I import that video as ProRess 422 (Non-HQ) and the quality is pretty nice.

Now I have a couple of questions:

    1. The HDV import was easy, especially since there are some FCP settings specific to Sony Firewire (Device Control Preset). Is there specific settings I should use in the Audio Video settings?

    2. I will be filming a friends wedding on Saturday and I plan on using a couple of SDHC cards. Isn’t there a way to pull the video off of the card to my MacbookPro and then import it into FCP? I thought I had read on here somewhere that there was a process, but after searching the threads I came up empty handed.

Anyhow, any information on the import process/settings in FCP would be very much appreciated.

Thanks again in advance, and I apologize for highjacking this thread. 😉

Wow! That’s all I can say about G&G. I called them this morning and spoke with a guy named Mike.

You can immediately tell that this is a legitimate operation, and they even have a link to help users shop safely over the internet.

They had most of the Panasonic Shooter’s Package (bag is on backorder), which is exactly what I was looking for.

Camera and everything else arrives on my doorstep on Tuesday….

Thanks for the tip!!!! I will definitely use them again.
